Table Talks

“Table Talks” is a new networking opportunity that we are introducing to MLC 2025.

Tables during lunch, coffee breaks, and trade show will be set up with signage that describes a topic of interest. Join that table and meet new friends for lunch or during the wine & cheese, or just during a break in the program!

Chat about topics in librarianship that interest you. These could include:

Safety a concern? Start a conversation here

Supporting Indigenous initiatives and colleagues

AI and Libraries, can we talk? (Robotic voice)

Organized by the Manitoba Library Association, the Manitoba Libraries Conference is an invitation for you to join us as we reconnect, revisit, and reinspire.

The Manitoba Libraries Conference connects library and information workers from across the province. We invite you to reconnect at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg on May 6-7 for two days of informative and engaging sessions, a large exhibitor hall, and opportunities to network and engage.

Land Acknowledgement

Acknowledgement of the territory on which one works and lives in an important Indigenous protocol and one that we respect.

The work of the Manitoba Library Association (MLA) is done on Treaties 1, 2, 3, 4, and Treaty 5 territories. Manitoba is located on the homeland of the Red River Metis and northern Manitoba includes lands that are the ancestral lands of the Inuit.

The offices of the MLA are located on Treaty One territory, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Ansininewuk, Dakota Oyate, and Dene and the homeland of the Red River Metis. Our water comes from Shoal Lake First Nation.

We are grateful for the lessons we are learning throughout our work but we acknowledge that we need to do better.

We also acknowledge that what was promised in these treaties remains unfulfilled.
